Information for Prospective Applicants

Rogues and Vagabonds Management is a successful cooperative agency. It was established 38 years ago. Part of its success can be attributed to the financial and time commitment which each member makes to the agency.

Each member pays £10 a month subscription and spends 3 unpaid days in the office (either in Deptford or Working from home) each month, except when engaged in full time acting. In return, the agency offers an unrivalled level of transparency, one of the lowest commission rates (10%) in the business, an opportunity to learn how the whole casting process works and a friendly and supportive environment.

Each member of agency starts as a trainee. They undergo a well-defined training programme and, after successful completion, are eligible for election to full membership.

As a not-for-profit organisation, any monetary surplus is used for the benefit of its members. They receive professional development grants and meet up regularly to socialise and get to know each other. This is important because each member relies on other members to represent them and submit them for appropriate roles.

We conform with equal opportunities legislation and best practice and welcome applications from the whole spectrum of humanity provided they meet the minimum criteria of being:

– Over 18

– Eligible to work in the UK

– Spotlight registered

– Willing to work for 3 days a month in the (virtual or real) office

– Willing to accept sole representation

– Have a showreel

Currently we are particularly keen to increase all types of diversity within our client portfolio, including but not limited to age, race, background, gender identity, unique skill sets, body shape, disabilities and more.

Application Advice and Guidelines

In the first instance, please submit an email application to the Join Rogues email. Our membership team reviews every application which meet the minimum criteria. If we consider your skills, attributes, credits and showreel to be a good fit with the agency we will call you for interview. You will not be auditioned in the traditional sense but will meet and be interviewed by a panel from the membership team. This is usually conducted over Zoom.

Mention in your application why you want to join a cooperative agency and the non-acting skills which you feel you could bring to the organisation. If you are currently, or imminently, appearing in any performances, do mention this too, as we like to see potential members if we can.

Please also make sure your Spotlight credits are up to date and provide a link to your page. We try to maintain a portfolio of clients that avoids major competition between individuals. Mention in your application what you think your unique attributes are and how these would enhance our current client portfolio.

Please also mention if you have worked with any of our current clients or whether they are personally known to you.

We look forward to hearing from you. Our books are always open for the right candidates. Do not be despondent if we do not progress your application. This will be most likely due to your ”fit” within our current clients rather than your acting skills and you are more than welcome to submit yourself again at a later date.
